Reports to the OPR President & CEO, with day-to-day reporting to the client’s various US Patient Advocacy therapeutic area leads.

About OPR

Olshan Patient Relations (OPR) is a boutique patient engagement consulting firm that helps pharmaceutical companies integrate patient and caregiver perspectives throughout drug development and commercialization. We serve as a strategic partner to clients, delivering work that is decision-enabling, scientifically responsible, and respectful of patients, caregivers, and advocates.

Position overview

OPR is seeking an Associate of Client Services to manage a program for a major pharmaceutical client that is focused on embedding the patient perspective in US drug development initiatives during and after product launch. This associate will manage the end-to-end process for the client’s US Patient Insight Panels (PIPs), working in close partnership with members of the US Patient Advocacy team and their internal cross-functional colleagues.

PIPs are organized by disease areas and are comprised of patients, caregivers, and patient advocates who have year-long consulting agreements with the client to provide feedback on the company’s patient-facing initiatives such as marketing programs, disease awareness campaigns, patient education, patient support services, and patient experience research. The PIPs are part of the US Patient Advocacy team’s strategy to collaborate with relevant patient communities to understand unmet needs that inform business strategy, mobilize patients to seek the best care and reduce access barriers. Consultations with PIP advisors are entirely virtual.

The client has separate PIPs for various disease areas, including but not limited to:

  • Oncology
  • Cardiovascular disease
  • Immune disorders
  • Rare diseases

This individual will be an employee of OPR and will report administratively to OPR, while working day to day under the direction of the client’s US Patient Advocacy team.

Key responsibilities

The client’s US Patient Advocacy department is run internally by Patient Advocacy Leads, each of whom sets strategy and leads collaboration with patient communities from different disease areas. Every Patient Advocacy Lead manages a PIP in their respective disease area. It will be the responsibility of OPR’s Associate of Client Services to provide support to each Patient Advocacy Lead to manage their respective PIPs. This will include:

  • Conducting regular update calls with Patient Advocacy Leads to assess their needs
  • Managing the process of setting up PIPs in each disease area at the beginning of every year and reconciling PIPs at the end of every year
  • Managing timelines, deliverables, meeting preparation, follow-up, and documentation for PIP projects
  • Serving as the primary liaison between internal project teams and PIP advisors, ensuring effective and appropriate engagement throughout project lifecycles
  • Maintaining accurate project records, documentation, tracking tools, and databases
  • Monitoring advisor participation and project hours to support payment processes
  • Identifying opportunities to improve PIP processes, templates, and project workflows, and maintaining and updating PIP standard operating procedures to align with evolving company practices
  • Serving as a subject matter expert on the PIP consulting model, providing guidance and answering questions from advisors and internal cross-functional colleagues
  • Anticipating client needs and proactively identifying issues, risks, and next steps
  • Helping to maintain strong client relationships through clear, responsive, and thoughtful communication
  • Following all applicable laws and client policies, and reporting any instances of non-compliance to the client’s Legal and Compliance departments
  • Promoting the responsible use of AI-enabled tools to strengthen PIP program quality, consistency, and efficiency

Training will be provided on OPR’s PIP processes, client systems, and relevant tools.
